The DeckHand Company was established by Joe Huss in spring of 2023. Being an avid DIYer, he has always tried to tackle home improvement projects to save money and learn new skills. He has experience building decks, remodeling houses, shingling roofs, and working with trusses.

During these projects, Joe kept running into problems trying to do it by himself. As he encountered those issues, he developed solutions built around efficiency, effectiveness, and safety. These solutions have manifested into the creation and development of a couple of new products for the construction industry to embrace and utilize.​
